Our two new graduates, Clever and Davis, have asked for assistance in setting up a pig and chicken farm in their home village. We have spent the past six months or so working with them on a detailed business plan and cash flow projections, and funding training for them in pig and chicken farm management and in business management. Finally, we are ready to go. In addition to providing employment for these two very bright young men, it is planned that the farm will initiate organic Mbeya fertiliser production, to be distributed free of charge to locally needy families, and spawn other businesses including animal feed mixing.  A proportion of the profits will be used to fund a microfinance scheme locally for other would-be businesses.  We will be following developments closely and wish them every possible success.
