A recent visit to Malawi

A recent visit to Malawi

One of MSP‘s trustees made a wonderfully productive visit to Malawi in October/November 2025. In addition to visiting Mpasa CDSS (the community day secondary school where MSP has for 7 years run its bursary programme) and Mwanazanga primary school (where we have funded and built four school blocks and undertaken various other remedial works), she was able to visit 11 of our 12 students at their various colleges and universities around the country. The only one she was unable to see was on placement in Nsanje, in the far south of the country. In all, it was a journey of well over 1000 km, from Mpasa/Phalombe in the south to Mzuzu in the north, much of it on rough unmade roads in problematic vehicles.

She was able to see at first hand the wonderful progress that the students have been making, and to check on their accommodation, budgets, and well-being. All were delighted to be supported on the MSP student programme, and all were doing extremely well in their studies.

We look forward to the graduations of our first two university students, who take their final exams in December 2025 and who both appear to be on course for degrees with credit, the equivalent of UK 2:1s.
